This program is amazing. It works great in all ways that you would expect. I have discovered that if you copy look up tables to the program data folder the upgrader will insert these for you as well! We asked Harry to add some features to the batch file upgrader for us. Not only did Harry deliver on time and on budget, he saved LPA many days of upgrading models. If you have more than a few models to upgrade get this.
If you need it to do something more, just ask Harry. You will be surprised. Version 2. And your tool does not inherently or give the option to just save over the current file???? Just my observations That’s not the last Revit version ever. Will not install on Windows 10 x64, missing DLL error. Not sure what the installer is looking for as in the dll. Can you please advise if the lastest upgrader version is intended to be released with each Revit release? I have now but no bulk file upgrader to match?
I would also like to know if and when a version is forthcoming and when it might available? Otherwise I might as well start the process of updating manually.
The version has been submitted to Autodesk but not yet posted by them. I’ve been searching for an OEM’s library of parts for Revit. As a manufacturer, we currently create our family content using Revit , to make sure we have older versions available for our customers, just in case.
This utility upgraded our families to and without a problem. The Help document should mention that everything in all sub-folders of the source folder will also be upgraded. Craig Gibeaut Hufcor, Inc. Works nicely, thanks Harry. The only issue I found is that the main source folder must have a Revit file in it, otherwise a warning comes up. Add a file to the main source folder, and it all works fine. Thanks – it saves me maintaining my version. It appears to me that upon testing of the utility that it will only work with Revit and newer versions?
Is this true or is there something that I am missing? It would be great to get this tool to work with older versions, I love the concept and it worked pretty good on the files that I upgraded to One more thing, it would be great to be able to rename the files as we have a naming convention that includes the Revit version. For some reason the installer could not register thr installed clone. Sorry, something went wrong. Tried using the default install folder, same issue. I’m actually installing for my users which had same issue so I tried installing on my machine, still same issue. We use Windows 10, all windows updates up to date. That seems to have done the trick! Any reason those “extra” command lines are needed, if you can share, just curious.
They are not needed. Installer runs these commands when copies pyRevit contents to the destination folder. Not sure why it doesn’t work on your system. It might be user access rights for the installer to run the commands. Ok, thanks. User access rights are probably right. Back in 4. But when I installed onto a user-created folder full access for everyone , it worked. That’s why I tried installing 4. So I’ve lost PyRevit.

This was the main culprit that would make the installer run under admin user and therefore config the attachments to Revits for that user. New installer will be available with 4. I have the Gitkraken cloned version working with the using the cloned master command! How to I switch the master to override the initial install should I use the switch command? I tried it on work laptop and it comes up asking for admin credentials. I guess i have to contact my IT admin and ask them to install it for me. Also tried doing a manual install and in release folder there are no batch files, aip files which i don’t know how to use :. I installed PyRevit 4.
